ABOUT KEITH CARACCIO
A third-generation, professional painter and decorator, Keith started his career on leaving school at 15, working for Blasby’s based in Ipswich. 2 years later, Keith moved to the largest Suffolk painting and decorating company of the time, W H Burch & Son, where Keith learned much about the estimating and business side of the painting and decorating trade.
Having always wanted more from the trade, FKC Caraccio Ltd was established in 1971 when Keith was 19 and the business soon grew to employ 40 painters and contracts as much as £350000.
After taking time out to concentrate on his own barn conversion as his retirement home, (building and renovation being another passion) Keith was tempted back to the job he loves and set up a new business extending his professional painting and decorating skills throughout Suffolk, Essex and beyond.
Today, Keith manages a huge variety of commercial and domestic work with numerous loyal clients.
“I have always enjoyed the chase and variation of contracts, be it factories, hospitals, schools, new housing estates, or the single room or home: it is always interesting and satisfying to please a customer.” Keith says.
“We are certainly one of the most experienced Suffolk based painting and decorating companies and travel far and wide for the right work to suit our employees.”
He continues “I have seen many changes in my trade from lead-based paints, to acrylics, intumescent fire retardants, heavy duty industrial coatings, natural based paints, to the now widely used designer paints for painting any surface you can think of. There are now dozens of brands with 5000 colours to choose from. Of course, now it is all carried out with Health & Safety certificates, licences, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements. My father and grandfather would never have imagined such changes”
